Terms common to diagnostics, symptoms, procedures, treatments as well as acceptable abbreviations will be covered in an organized body systematic approach to learning.

Course content explores countries’ geography and culture, the history of their health systems, followed by a detailed evaluation of cost, quality, access and innovation. Students will become familiar with the globalization of healthcare, organization of health systems in different countries around the world, international demographic health and illness profiles, the distribution of disease worldwide, the many social determinants of health, global health financing, ongoing world health reform, international health agencies, the politics of international health, the influence of globalization on health care providers and systems, the role of public health systems in managing health and illness, the public’s role in international health policy-making.

    Provides on-site experience in health care organization with a focus on the application of knowledge and skills gained through previous course work in Health Services Administration. In conjunction with preceptor and faculty, develop project goals related to mutual interests and site needs. Written reports, activity log, and completion of project required. Students must have senior status and have taken HOM 2025 to take this course.
